IXO Models
When the Vitesse Group ceased trading in June 2001, many of the moulds and toolings were purchased by IXO based in China. They are producing the Contemporary cars, motorbikes, and of course rallycars, infact virtually the same models and similar packaging to the Vitesse / Skid ones! To date they have produced the new Subaru Impreza WRC 2001, Citroen Xsara and hopefully soon, the new Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 7. To visit their website click HERE
Trofeu
This company is based in Portugal, originally they produced 1/43 Resin rally car kits, but moved up to diecast models with the Ford Sierra RS Cosworth in 1988. Since then, they have produced limited numbers of high quality models at very reasonable prices. Following the Sierra, came versions of the various evolutions of the Toyota Celica GT4, ST185 and the ST205. The Mitsubishi Galant VR4 rally car
from Ralliart was also issued. The Subaru Impreza WRX / 555 / WRC have also been modeled, with nearly fifty different versions available from the standard issues, to transkits depicting cars from preparation companies Futureworld, Ciltisport, Procar and ART. One of the most eagerly awaited issues was the Ford Escort MK1, in both fast road versions and the bubble arched rally versions. Future releases and eagerly awaited will be the fast road versions of the RS1800, 1600 Sport and the Harrier. This should be then followed by the works rally cars of the era in the colours of Rothmans, Eaton Yale and Cossack Hairspray.
