Opel Manta 400 by Vitesse.

One of the last rear wheel drive Group B cars, the Manta 400 was campaigned during the mid to late 80's gaining success in many of the asphalt events entered. The UK's Shell Oils Open rally championship of that era featured the "Andrews Heat for Hire" car of Russell Brookes and the "British Telecom" car of Penti Arikkala to name but two. Vitesse produced these models in the late 80's, and they have since been re-released in the early 90's. Early versions came in a red box, with the decals to apply yourself, along with a "bag of bits". The bag included wing mirrors, a lamp pod, windscreen wipers,
and roo bars for the Safari models.
The original versions also contained a driver and navigator figure. The re-released model came without the bag of bits and figures, also the decals were applied for you, which saved a lot of heartache! Especially with the Rothmans and Andrews Heat for Hire versions, which take hours to put on correctly. These Manta's are now very collectable the Andrews Heat for Heat now fetches up to £100 each, the others between £30 and £50. These can still be obtained occasionally, e-mail us for more details. The table below is a list of eveything I know that has been produced to date, if there is anything missing, please tell me ! The standard models are listed first, the SM models, are the limited edition versions, which were available in lesser numbers.
